Efficient post-silicon validation via segmentation of process variation envelope - Global vs local variations

چکیده
In this paper, we propose an efficient method for incorporating the knowledge of global (worst case of on-die, across die, across wafers, and across wafer lots) and local (worst case on-die) process variations into a systematic framework for identifying delay marginalities in a design during first-silicon validation. With the goal of significantly reducing the number of vectors required for validation, we propose an approach for segmenting the normal process variation envelope into sub-envelopes, where each sub-envelope is guaranteed to capture worst-case local variations, and where all sub-envelopes collectively capture the worst-case global variations. We then use our recent approach for generating multiple vectors (vector-spaces) [15] in a segment-by-segment manner to guarantee the invocation of the worst-case delay of the chips in the first-silicon batch. We present extensive experimental results to demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach, especially in the context of increasing process variations.

متن کاملSegmentation of MR image using local and global region based geodesic model
BACKGROUND Segmentation of the magnetic resonance (MR) images is fundamentally important in medical image analysis. Intensity inhomogeneity due to the unknown noise and weak boundary makes it a difficult problem. METHOD The paper presents a novel level set geodesic model which integrates the local and the global intensity information in the signed pressure force (SPF) function to suppress the...
متن کاملSegmenting TRUS Video Sequences Using Local Shape Statistics
Automatic segmentation of the prostate in transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) may improve the fusion of TRUS with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for TRUS/MRI-guided prostate biopsy and local therapy. It is very challenging to segment the prostate in TRUS images, especially for the base and apex of the prostate due to the large shape variation and low signal-to-noise ratio. To successfully segment t...
متن کاملA hierarchical approach to color image segmentation using homogeneity
In this paper, a novel hierarchical approach to color image segmentation is studied. We extend the general idea of a histogram to the homogeneity domain. In the first phase of the segmentation, uniform regions are identified via multilevel thresholding on a homogeneity histogram. While we process the homogeneity histogram, both local and global information is taken into consideration. This is p...
متن کاملFast Predictive Post-OPC Contact/Via Printability Metric and Validation
Yield is one of the most important factors for massive semiconductor circuits production. As process variation tolerances decrease and the number of contacts/vias increase in modern technologies, contact/via failure has increased substantially, which attracts many attentions from both manufacture and design domains. Among all the contact/via failure mechanisms, lithography related ones become m...
